1000 Mile Cycle for Will Power.

On Friday I cruised up to Portrush and went for a surf with my friend Jamie Russel. I took up my mountain bike as I was considering joining in on a leg with the boys on there 1000 mile cycle around Ireland for Will Power, all in aid for back up trust, who have helped our good friend Will Doggart who broke his neck on a post A level celebration in Majorca back in 2009. Luckily a friend up North had a road bike I could borrow, so game on!! I met up with the guys Saturday morning in Portrush at their campsite. Fair play to them with already 900 Miles under their belt, incredible. I started out wearing a pair of Roxy hot pants to cycle in, not so appropriate but how was I to know having never been on a road bike ha! I set off with the intentions of doing just day 1.

One of the boys had a spare pair of cycling shorts. Ben Scott your a saviour!

This was one of the 1st toilet stops, White park bay, so beautiful, don't think I have seen Northern Ireland looking so fine!

This is the whole crew + myself. from the top left,  Andy, Matt, Ben, Johnny P, Gilmer, Gary, me, Chris, Kyle, and Purcy.

cruising on the down hills, legs very relieved at this stage.

Open road.

On the way back into Belfast , near Carrickfergus, never been so happy to see the skyline of Belfast with H&W in my sight!

I joined the guys on the Saturday and cycled 60 Miles all around the coast to Larne, we then  stayed  in a lil campsite and then on Sunday I decided to join the guys again, we hit the road again for which was a really mellow cycle for the boys 40 miles back to Bangor through Belfast. It was awesome to arrive home in Bangor and all the boys family and friends where there waiting on there arrival at the town hall.

So inspiring that a group of friends came together and not only talked about it but got it done in! 10 lads, 9 cyclists, Stewart in the Picasso, 16 days. 1000 miles, 60-80 miles a day, 1 day off! all for WILL POWER.
