WORLD CUP Finals Czech Republic.
FROM the World Champs where I landed my first Cab Double in competition, a new trick for me! I was feeling on good form and ready for the last World Cup of the season.
From Absolut Park, Austria, I drove with Jamie Nicholls to the Czech Republic for the FINAL World Cup of the season. It’s actually been mad! I don’t think I have ever done so many contests, the first one being the Milano Big Air in November! It’s been a long, fun and progressive winter for me.
8.5 hours later we arrived into the small, and sleepy town by week and party town come the weekend, Špindlerův Mlýn. Located in the in the Krkonoše mountain range 2 hours from Prague and 20 minutes from the Polish boarder, it is the heart and home to Czech Skiing and Snowboarding.
First off , it was qualification on Friday! I was absolutely chuffed to qualify 2nd in my heat, this put me direct to the 6 Women Finals. I couldn’t have asked for more in the last event of the season. However, not happy with 6th position, it was all to play for in the Finals on Saturday.
With a warm weather front, the course was in premium condition and the crowd was buzzing. The Czech fans certainly know how to get the good vibes going, from the music to all of the locals lining the bottom of the course cheering, the final was stacked… and yes with ;) Brits. Jamie Nicholls and Rowan Coultas representing for the Men, and Matt McCormick with a solid semi final result.
Below is my qualification run from Friday! Still trying to source my final run, but enjoy watching the quali for now!
Finals for me, was all about going big, and I went a little too big on my first run, I put my 2nd run down, which gave me a score of 73.24. Chuffed with my score I moved into 3rd position, but not for long! Finishing the Finals in 4th position, 0.16 of a point behind 3rd place. I have to admit I was a little gutted, however I am so happy to finish the World Cup season in a strong position, a solid result on the board, this put me into 5th position, finishing the season in 5th Place in the World Slopestyle Rankings!
Jamie Nicholls bossed it, and put a run down including a cab 1440, which gave him the 3rd spot! So a big shout out to him.
So that’s the World Cup season in the bag, now onto some filming, slush riding and the British Championships.
Thank you to everyone for all of your support throughout the contests, it’s for sure been a great contest season and one to build on for next year! PEACE out CZECH! Can’t wait to head home to see my Momma! A 6.50 am from flight to London and then back to Belfast to regroup for a couple of days!
HAPPY MOTHER’s DAY for all you MUMMA’s out there. Hope you had a great day. BIG love.
